Programs

Upon joining the Renzo Gracie Academy, you will become part of a bigger family formed by a select few people. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has become the most in-demand martial art because of its applicability to everyday life and its usage in the MMA world. At the Renzo Gracie Academy, you are welcome to train amongst the best the sport has to offer, regardless of your level.

Our new students engage in a learning journey beginning with the origins of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and get in touch with this martial art developed by the Gracie Family. It is known to be the most effective self-defense system in the world.

To see what program best fits your needs, we encourage you to visit the academy and speak with a program director.

All new students must undergo an evaluation by a black belt professor who will recommend the program that best suits the student.

Your progress is a direct consequence of your efforts. Belts and stripes are earned as a result of your progress, which is closely followed by the professors.

For any further information regarding the RGA Academy programs, please visit the academy in person and speak with a program director.

Kid’s Program

The young student will embark on a fun and motivational journey exploring the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while gaining self-respect and confidence.

KICK START PROGRAM

The first stop on the path to Black Belt is the Kick Start Program.  This program is designed to teach the students all of the basic knowledge needed in order for them to graduate into the next stage: The Blue Belt/Fundamentals Program.  The student will be instructed on the important fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu, from the basic details of our warm up system to some more advance and intricate drills that will simulate actual sparring.

Fundamentals Program
Blue Belt

The Blue Belt Program is the first level for adults (over the age of 16) beginning their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. Students will learn the fundamentals of BJJ and basic techniques. Class structure is formed around a warm-up, a lesson in technique and partner training to practice the technique from the lesson.

Advanced Program
Purple Belt

The RGA Advanced Curriculum is primarily focused on sports BJJ with the Gi. If the student would like to train self-defense they may come to the fundamentals classes as well until the level of Blue belt is attained.

Master Program
Black Belt
This program is built upon three different curriculum’s: BJJ, BJJ No-Gi, and BJJ for MMA. The student will consolidate his/her Jiu-Jitsu game and complete the path towards their Black belt.

Muay Thai Program

These classes will have a friendly and motivating atmosphere to help develop you the student both physically and mentally.  Students will learn how to kick, punch and use their knees and elbows in addition to learning how to hold pads and work with partners.

Through simple but effective 2-4 strike combinations, during 2-3 minute rounds,  students are introduced to our formula of consistency, pad work, combinations, tempo and most importantly safety.

These classes will be open to all students, (men, women, teens) or  ‘non-students’that are  just looking to come in for some striking training separate from our Jiu Jitsu program.

Conditioning Classes

Our conditioning classes are based on the concept of high intensity interval training. This method has been proven much more successful than traditional aerobic exercise for weight loss, cardiovascular health and sports conditioning. Classes can accommodate any student regardless of his or her level of conditioning. The time based intervals provide a challenging training effect and allow for each student to work at his or her own level. The unique exercise selection and format is based on the conditioning circuits used by Renzo and his team when training for fights.

Strength Training

Our strength training program addresses the unique personal demands of each athlete. Customized training programs prepare your body to maximize power, speed and flexibility while resisting injury and giving you a platform for success. All athletes will receive individualized programs specific to their own personal needs. From here they are coached in a small group or semi-private setting with never more than a 6:1 athlete to coach ratio and in most cases more like a 3:1 ratio. Semi-private training has proven successful in collegiate and professional sports as well as physical therapy and cardiac rehabilitation.
